How To Copy and Paste

Even though most of us are relatively competent in the operation of computers there are a few stragglers out there who don’t really know what I call the pre-basics of using the computer.  Sure, they know some things because they either want to or have been forced to do something on the computer but haven’t become efficient enough in other areas.  Therefore it is on my heart to share what knowledge I do have with those of us who have resisted learning the computer for whatever reason.

I guess, since I taught in the Chicago Public School System for several years practicing as a substitute teacher I long to practice my skills again.  I really enjoyed teaching but it seemed that I would never make FTB (Full-time Basis) status.  It seemed as though right when it was about to happen some teacher would come along and bump me out of the position.  So I had to move on to a real full-time job so that I could support my family.  My experience as a teacher could be a whole new book but it is at least another chapter.  So I want to share this pre-basic computer training with those of us who are trying to get it together.

To copy and paste is easy. First go to the beginning word(s) that you want to copy. I'm using a laptop and not a mouse. I'm using the key pad in front of the keyboard. So using the key pad I click on the lower left-hand corner holding it down while I run my finger over the keypad with slight pressure in order to highlight the word, phrase, paragraph, etc.

Once the information is highlighted point the cursor somewhere in the blue area that is highlighted and right click. That will bring a dropdown box and you choose "copy" from the options. Next you pull up a blank document (Word, WordPad, etc.). When you see the blinking cursor (or if you don't see it just click anywhere that you want to paste the content on the page; then you will see the blinking cursor). Then right click again. You'll see the dropdown box again and this time you select "paste". There you have it.

This time when you select your copy using a mouse, left click it and hold it down while dragging it across the content you want to copy until it is all highlighted. Then holding down the Ctrl (Control) button also press V (for paste) and you will see it pasted. If you want to repeat the paste on the same page just Ctrl-V again as many times as you want to repeat the copy and paste.

If this video helped you in any way please leave a comment. Motivation for the Soul - Don't Worry

When I think about motivation, I want something that’s gonna last for a while.  I want to hear or see something that sticks with me – motivation for the soul.

Have you ever noticed how some people worry about everything?  They worry about what is going to happen tomorrow or how things are not going the way they want them to so they worry about how to change things.  They don’t think about changing their minds they try to change conditions when it’s quite impossible to do that most times.  But, according to my interpretation of the Bible, it is a sin to worry; but there are still Christians out there with the “worrying disease.”  Here is a quote from the Bible about worrying:

Phil. 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God

And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The Bible is where I get my motivation for the soul.  It is truly a guide to help us make things easier for us.

Stewing over a challenging situation can cause unnecessary worry and concern.  You can fill your mind with worst-case scenarios and “what-ifs” until you wear yourself out.  Overthinking a problem can use more energy than simply letting go and letting God.

Instead of forcing solutions, turn to God within.  Say “Thank You.”  Give thanks to the higher power at work in your life, guiding you in the right ways and helping you achieve your goals.  Trust in the Divine Wisdom to bless and guide you.  In this way you are showing the Almighty that you trust and believe in his wisdom.  Somewhere in the Word it says lean not to thine own understanding.  That’s why we don’t know why things are happening to us because our understanding is not God’s understanding.  Just like our time is not God’s time.  So we are motivated by God’s Word to be able to withstand conditions that we have no way of conquering.  There’s a saying “change your mind and you can change your conditions.”

God does not want us to worry.  What good does it do us?  None.  You just add another layer of problems onto the ones that you worry about.  You are convincing yourself that God is not wise because you have decided to solve this problem all by yourself even though you have no idea where to begin.  If you knew how to solve the problem you would.  They say if you knew better you would do better; but you don’t know better so you can’t do better.

My advice to you is to get motivation for the soul by picking up your bible and doing a little study there.  Of course, if you are not a Christian you can pick up whatever publication that motivates you into becoming less of a worry bug.  It’s very easy to fall into that pit, but you must find a way to come out of it.  If you don’t you are doomed to illness, failure, depression and a lot more stuff that’s not very good for you.

How To Be Successul In Your Business

I don’t know what you think you need as far as internet tools are concerned but I know some of the things we all need.  First you need targeted traffic (that is people who you can send your offers to).  I know how you can find them.  Second, you need to send traffic to your offer, website, blog, etc.  I know how you can get that.  Third, you need an auto responder.  What they do for you is provide a way for you to connect to your subscribers by sending a series of email that go out on a predetermined schedule.  This email can be used to drive traffic and increase your blogging income.  How?  Offering some type of free course; to give readers access to your archived information; to introduce them to a paid product or service; or to sell another product or service in your line.  Of course there are many more uses but these are only a few.  Another good thing to have is a capture page.  That is where you make the offer and the people that opt into it are put on your “list”.  Remember, the money is in the list.

The above tools are a necessity.  But you also may want affiliate associations. You need training via videos and eBooks, etc.  You may be interested in a forum of individuals doing what you do so that you can exchange ideas and ask questions when you don’t know where or how to find an answer to things.

Well, I know where you can get “all of the above” and more.  In addition I know where you can get all of this for the lowest possible price ever!  Wait for it;  12 SecondCommute is the answer!

Right now and until September 30, 2013 you can get all of these tools for a measly $24 one-time payment forever!  Yes, one-time forever!  After that new members must pay $37/mo. every month for their membership fee.  I don’t know about you, but I think this is a heck of bargain.  So, if you want to learn how to be successful in your business or businesses you should hop on over to 12 Second Commute and join while this special pricing is still available.

10 PLACES TO GET INSPIRATION FOR YOUR BLOG

We all know the saying applied to blogs is “Content, Content, Content.”  And I’m sure you will agree that we should add “Value” to that saying.  By adding value (something useful and valuable to the reader) to the content (subject matter) we are able to enhance our blogs and enjoy a larger readership.

If we strive to be consistent then we should plan to create posts to our blogs on a regular basis.  At the very least once a week.  In order to do this we must have something to talk about (content).  Where do you find things to talk about on your blogs.

I think of blogs as inspired writings, just like poems or short stories.  So here is a list of sites to go to for inspiration.

Alltop: Alltop is a site that combines all the top stories from sites across the Internet.

The way I’ve related to Alltop is that they’re much like the New York Times Bestseller List. They do the work to find good reads from different niches and help readers find those sites by displaying them on a single, aggregated page that lists the latest five stories on those sites. It’s a great way to check out your interests without managing a ton of blogs and sites.

LinkedIn Today: LinkedIn Today, which delivers the day’s top news, tailored to you based on what your connections and industry peers are reading and sharing. If you only have five minutes to catch up on news, LinkedIn Today can help you cut through all the clutter, so you can discover the top headlines you need to read to be better informed every day.

Pinterest:  From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pinterest is a pinboard-style photo-sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, and hobbies. Users can browse other pinboards for images, "re-pin" images to their own pinboards, or "like" photos. The site was founded by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra, and Evan Sharp. It is managed by Cold Brew Labs and funded by a small group of entrepreneurs and investors.

Twitter:  Twitter is an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based messages of up to 140 characters, known as "tweets".

Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey and by July, the social networking site was launched. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with over 500 million registered users as of 2012, generating over 340 million tweets daily and handling over 1.6 billion search queries per day. Since its launch, Twitter has become one of the ten most visited websites on the Internet, and has been described as "the SMS of the Internet." Unregistered users can read tweets, while registered users can post tweets through the website interface, SMS, or a range of apps for mobile devices.

Facebook:  Facebook is an online social networking service, whose name stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by some university administrations in the United States to help students get to know each other. It was founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The website's membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It gradually added support for students at various other universities before opening to high school students, and eventually to anyone aged 13 and over. Facebook now allows any users who declare themselves to be at least 13 years old to become registered users of the site.

StumbleUpon:  StumbleUpon is a discovery engine (a form of web search engine) that finds and recommends web content to its users. Its features allow users to discover and rate Web pages, photos, and videos that are personalized to their tastes and interests using peer-sourcing and social-networking principles.

Google Alerts:  Google Alerts is a content change detection and notification service, offered by the search engine company Google, that automatically notifies users when new content from news, web, blogs, video and/or discussion groups matches a set of search terms selected by the user and stored by the Google Alerts service. Notifications can be sent by email, as a web feed, or displayed on the users’ iGoogle page. The service is available to the general public as an open beta release.

Copyblogger:  Content marketing tools, tips, and training for online marketers, copywriters, and entrepreneurs. The advice, strategies, and solutions that work.

Problogger:  Blogging about blogging- how to monetize, attract readers, etc.

Readwrite:  ReadWrite is one of the most popular technology blogs in the world, known for offering insightful analysis about each day's Internet industry news.

A Salute To Firefighters

First of all I would like to praise and honor firefighters all over the world.  That is one job that I would not care to have.  Yet and still you have compassionate individuals who work hard to save our lives in a fire but lots of times these individuals are putting out fires involving property.

This is a dangerous job.  I remember when I lived in Chicago and on the news they showed some firefighters putting the fire out in a warehouse.  They showed the firefighters on top of the roof, and all of a sudden they were stuck up there with no means of getting off the roof.  The fire was getting hotter and hotter and we were getting a blow by blow description from the media.  Then all of a sudden the unthinkable happened.  The roof caved in with the firefighters who were on the roof.  They just disappeared into the smoke and flames just like the property they were protecting.  I just burst into tears.  How could this happen like this?  Who could have done anything to save them?  I came to the conclusion that no one could have done anything to save them.  It was just their time to go.  But it hurt to see people die right in front of my eyes and I wondered what they had died for?  For some property.

It seems to be such a thankless job.  I mean, who thanks the firemen and firewomen who save their precious homes.  What businessman gives commendations to the firefighters who helped save their precious money-making facilities?  I know it’s not a waste, but who gives them the credit that they so richly deserve?  I want to be that someone.  I want to say thank you for risking your life to save people and property and I pray every day for your safety and for your families.  I love you firefighters and God be with you every step of your way.

Sending out a special prayer for the firefighters lost in Houston this June.
