Have you ever thought there was a conspiracy against you while marketing on the internet? Especially when you use Facebook and are summarily put in jail for no apparent reason that you can figure out?

When Facebook puts you in jail, I haven’t discovered if they notify you or not. All is know is that I went to post in a group and a message appeared that I could not perform that action. It also stated that if I thought this was unwarranted I could click an option (which I did not). Prior to getting that message when I tried to sign into Facebook I got a message that I had to prove it was me and not an imposter. They showed me several pictures of people I had listed as “friends”. It also showed their family and friends and I was supposed to check their names. Personally, I thought this was absurd. Why couldn’t they just use my login information or birthdate, or something REAL. They say I have over 1,000 friends but a lot of them are duplicate profiles. Anyway, I could not guess the names of these people because many are business acquaintances and people from other social media sites. I can’t even remember my grandchildren’s names sometimes so you know I couldn’t guess these people’s names from their pictures. Anyway you get blocked for some minutes or hours before you can retake the test. That got me to thinking. Supposing I can’t get back on Facebook- ever? What will I do? Gotta figure out a Plan B Action plan. Facebook does not tell you why you were put in jail. So how can you prevent being incarcerated if you don’t know what violation you committed?

Tendonitis Almost Did Me In

The other day I woke up and could hardly move my arm. The pain was excruciating. I found it extremely difficult to wash up and to put on my clothes. It was terrible.

I don’t know about you but I think pain is not normal. If there is pain there is a problem. My first thoughts are to isolate the problem and then treat it. At first I thought about a heart attack. They say when you get pain in your left arm it could indicate that you are having a heart attack. And of course women react differently than men do. So, I talked to a couple of people who indicated I should check the heart attack thing out. But I wasn’t trying to hear that. I was not going to accept their diagnosis because I have not had any kind of problems in that area. I was thinking I slept the wrong way and somehow that caused the pain. It also felt a little swollen. Then I thought I’ll wait a day or so and see if it does not go away. Well, it didn’t. It got worse. I couldn’t sleep. I was really upset because it was painful and inconvenient. Since I had to go out that next day I decided to go to Urgent Care. The doctor diagnosed it as Tendonitis. Tendonitis is an inflammation or irritation of a tendon. Chronic strain, overuse or misuse of a tendon leading to a repetitive stress injury, or a serious acute injury can lead to a weakness, tear or swelling of the tendon tissue resulting in pain and stiffness near the tendon.

The doctor gave me a sling to wear for 3 days and some oral medication. As soon as I arrived home I took the medicine and I had bought a heating pad and I put that on it. I slept well. I was to take the medication twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. They made me sleepy and I slept all day for the next 2 days. I was disgusted because I was unable to follow my daily routine. I wanted to get depressed, but I refused to do that. I just prayed and thanked the Lord that I had no more pain. Since I don’t care for medication I was happy to stop taking it almost as soon as the pain was gone one which only took one day. But I continued for 2 days taking the medication.

I’ll tell you one thing. That was no fun. It put me out of action for a few days, but now I’m as good as new. Thank God!

THEY ALL SAY THE SAME THING by Daraline Witherspoon

Recently I’ve been listening to positive, motivational videos by several great speakers. Some of those speakers are Zig Ziegler, Jim Rohn, Les brown and many others. And as I listen the thought patterns are very similar. They all seem to be saying the same thing just in different ways.

What they say is that in order to change conditions in your life that you don’t want you must change your mind. You must change how you see things. There’s a saying “If you keep doing what you’re doing you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.” In other words nothing will change unless you change something. So you must do something different. If you want to be a musician you must study music. If you want to be an artist you must study art. If you want to learn online marketing you must study internet marketing. As you see I could go on and on, but I won’t.

Another thing these great philosophers and teachers say is that if you help enough people get what they want then you will be able to get what you want. Now think about it. If you give a man a fish he can eat for a day. But if you teach a man how to fish he can eat for the rest of his life. Same goes for all things. Once you learn a thing you can then teach it. By sharing your knowledge with others you can teach them how to “____fill in the blank”.

You attract what you think about. Negative thoughts produce negative results. Change them. What? you say you can’t change? What do you think you’ve been doing for the last several years of your life? You didn’t stay the same. You grew, you gained wait, you changed your mind about a certain position you held on a topic. You are always changing. Saying that you can’t is just an excuse; a cop-out. You are a work in progress.

If you need to change your financial conditions, listen to some of these enlightened thinkers and motivational coaches and then do something about it. RETHINK!

DON’T MISS A CHANCE TO BLESS SOMEBODY

I wanted to share with you something that happened to me this very day.

I try not to carry any debit cards or charge cards with me except the one that I will be using. That way I figure I won’t make any on the spot purchases that I had not counted on. So this day I only took my PayPal card which I knew didn’t have more than $5 on it. I made my errands and then decided to go to McDonald’s and have a meal while I waited for my partner to show up for a meeting. I wasn’t sure he would come but he had indicated that when he finished his chores he would try to make the meeting. So I had decided that I would get 3 items off the dollar menu because I thought I might have at least $5 on the card.

I went up to the counter and ordered the 3 items which came to $3.45. I swiped my card and it said “denied.” So I told the cashier to take off one of the items and that it probably would go through. He did. So it was down to $2.45 and I swiped my card again. “Denied.” Standing behind me was an older Asian man and he said “What do you need?” “I’ve got a dollar and some change.” I said “Oh, I’ll take a dollar if that’s okay.” And then I said “So, you’re paying it forward huh?” He did not reply but as I swiped the card that said denied after giving the cashier the dollar, the cashier then rang up $1.49. So I swiped the card one more time and it said “approved.” Wow, that was close, but I only had two of the three items that I originally wanted and I was quite hungry. I had ordered a dollar onion and cheeseburger, a dollar fry, and a dollar sweet tea. So I said to the cashier “So, I only got a sweet tea huh?” And the cashier said “No, you’ve got your whole order.” I said “Wow, thank you.” I realized that the cashier gave me one of the items free. I felt really blessed. I felt like I had won a jackpot. These people didn’t know me. They didn’t know that I would have done the same thing for someone. But, through God’s blessings they blessed me when I really wanted what I had ordered. I had money on one of my cards at home; I just didn’t have it on this card that I now carried. Well, just goes to show you that it is a blessing to have a blessing to be a blessing.

This kind of thing always warms my heart to know that there are people out there who will do nice things. And I feel that you attract goodness when you give it. BE BLESSED~ p>

My Favorite New Chinese Restaurant

Recently I found a Chinese restaurant that I simply adore. It is so cute and unique. It’s very cozy and hospitable.

When I lived in Chicago my favorite Chinese restaurant that I grew up on was called Lotus Chinese Restaurant. It was located just east of Cottage Grove on 79th Street. I loved the shrimp egg foo young and the shrimp fried rice. It was always served in a rich dark gravy and it was scrumptious. Now, here in Las Vegas it was difficult to find an exceptional Chinese restaurant that suited my taste, but I’ve finally found one. It is called Amlee and it is located just west of Green Valley Parkway on Sunset right across the street from CVS and Kmart.

What I like most about it is the atmosphere – very homey. Also it has a full bar where you can obtain cocktails and premium alcohol. The staff is very friendly and they have photos on the wall of their family and visitors to their establishment.

My favorite Chinese cuisine is Shrimp Egg Foo Young. It is a little pricey there but it is worth it. So is the Shrimp Fried Rice. You get two hugh patties with the gravy and the shrimps are incorporated into the dish naturally just like the ones at Lotus. If ever you get to Henderson, NV and you love Chinese food I would strongly advise you to pay Amlee a visit, I’m sure you will enjoy it.

You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do

It’s about 2:00 a.m. and I just woke up from a nap. The reason I say it was a nap is because I’ve been up all day. I woke up very early and stayed up to promote my business and take care of a few things like cleaning, washing, doing the dishes, etc. So when I finally wound down I had to take a nap. You know when it’s time to get your rest your body shuts down even if you don’t want it to. But I knew I would have to get back up soon to resume my work and education.

I decided to make a snack that I have not had in at least 50 years (or at least it seems like that). I made butter and cheese toast. My mom used to fix that for us when I was kid. You put little dabs of butter and little pieces of cheese on bread and toast it in the oven for about 3 – 5 minutes or until it’s brown on top. She served it with hot chocolate and what a treat.

So, I’m getting ready to write out my “Things To Do” list for today and preparing to post, post, post and advertise, advertise, advertise. Even though I’m having some issues like I can’t get on IBO because it says my IE doesn’t support my browser (now I have to go to the help section and figure out how to correct that …..ugh! Then I’ve been banned by You Tube (or one of my videos was banned) and the only reason I could figure out why that happened was because I promoted another video program and said they wouldn’t ban you like You tube does. Tsk..tsk…tsk. Then I found out that Google banned me from making comments. Don’t know why. Maybe because You Tube and Google are connected. Well…..I have to use alternative methods to get my message out. One monkey don’t stop no show.

So, I’ll be busy trying to figure things out, but in the meantime and in between time I’m gonna plan my work and work my plan.

IF I DIDN’T CARE I WOULDN’T SHARE

I sometimes wonder to myself why I enjoy sharing so much. My family always joked with me about sharing and all of them would say the same thing. They would say “You are so kind and generous. When you have a blessing you look for people to share it with. They don’t have to come looking for you.”

They were right. For me the joy comes when I can surprise someone who is not expecting anything and to see their faces light up and the smiles they give you and the hugs you get. Wow, that just makes my day, my week, my year, my life. It is especially encouraging when it is someone you love deeply. But for me, I don’t limit my sharing to just my loved ones. I like those smiles from everyone or anyone that needs my help and I can help them.

I was born the second child (a girl) out of four children. Two boys and two girls. The amazing part about it to me is that my mother had two sets of children. My older brother and I were born two years apart and then 10 years later my younger brother and sister were born two years apart. So it’s like 1946 and 1948 and then 1956 and 1958. So I consider myself born smack dab in the middle.

I was always a child that didn’t mind sharing. I grew up going to Catholic school and learned about spiritual growth early in my life. My greatest lesson was not to judge or begrudge any person unless you’ve walked in their shoes. So sometimes when I see people on the street asking for money or food I think to myself “but for the Grace of God, there go I”. So if I have something I give it up. I remember a verse in the bible that says something like “be careful how you entertain strangers for they may be angels unaware”. And I think “that could have been and angel and look at how I’m treating them”. I don’t want that on my conscience. Besides if God gave me a blessing then I need to be a blessing to somebody – hence the saying “It is a blessing to have a blessing to be a blessing”.

I’m saying all this to say when I have something to share I try to share it. And of course, I want to share it most with the ones that I love. But when you are a “hustler” like me the ones closest to you always think you are a scatter brain and your ideas won’t work for them. But I still try to let them know first if it will help. When I say “hustler” it means a person who strives constantly to improve their lives. One who will do almost any job necessary to generate income when needed. When I was just a child of about 8 years old I had a little red wagon. I would see the boys at the grocery stores with their wagons. They would take people’s groceries home for them because in those days many people did not have cars so they had to walk. Personally, I couldn’t see why I could not do it. So I did. I used to ride the El train and sell Jet magazines to earn money when I was 9 or 10. Nothing is below me when it comes to legitimate work. I just want to make the money. And it was not because my parents didn’t give me a lot. Whatever they gave me was sufficient, but I wanted more. I mean look, there were 4 of us kids and 2 adults to feed and clothe but we had it. But I just thought why should I take away from anyone when I could go out and make money gladly. So, there it is.

Too Blessed To Be Stressed

As I was reading a message from Joel Osteen this is what it said, you are too blessed to be stressed. He quoted Dueteronomy 28:2, “And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.”

He said when the scripture says “blessings chase the righteous” that means you. The goodness of God is chasing you down. Get this down in your spirit. Can you just imagine that? Blessings chasing you down. You don’t have to beg or plead or be beholden to man. God’s favor is chasing you down! That is really deep. After hearing that you should be declaring by faith these things:

I am victorious

My future is bright

I am healthy and whole

The blessings of God are chasing me down

Most importantly is, you don’t have to seek the blessings, seek God and the blessing will seek after you. Don’t focus on the gift, focus on the Giver. Keep God first place and He promises He will bless your life in ways you can’t even imagine.

In Matthew 6:33 it says “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Everything you need to fulfill your destiny has already been laid up for you. Don’t worry about how or when it will happen. All you have to do is trust in God, be your best each day, and watch as His blessings overtake you. Before you know it the right people will find you. The promotion will come. That life-changing opportunity will track you down.

What is a Capture Page?

A capture page, also known as a Lead Capture Page or a Landing Page is a single web page that appears in response to clicking on an online advertisement. It usually involves some type of “offer” to entice prospects to submit their name and email address thereby giving you access to share information with them via your “list” Click here to see example. ,

Many, many marketers say “The money is in the list.” But when I first started internet marketing I was like “what list?” I didn’t know the first thing about a list. Later I learned that the “list” is your target market. In other words, the people that are interested in either obtaining or learning more about your business or offer.

The job of a capture page is to collect information from your prospect and have them give you their permission to send them to more information in which they have shown an interest.

Landing pages are often linked to from social media, email campaigns or search engine marketing campaigns in order to enhance the effectiveness of the advertisements. The general goal of a landing page is to convert site visitors into sales or leads. By analyzing activity generated by the linked URL, marketers can use click-through rates and Conversion rates to determine the success of an advertisement. You need a URL tracker for this. It works like this: You post a free offer or offer something for free. When the prospect signs up and clicks on “get access” or some term meaning the same thing the offer is produced.

When the prospect signs up their information goes into your autoresponder which adds it to your “list”.

There are two types of landing pages: reference and transactional.

Reference landing page

A reference landing page presents information that is relevant to the visitor. These can display text, images, dynamic compilations of relevant links, or other elements.

Transactional landing pages

The purpose of the transactional landing page is to entice a visitor to take action by completing a transaction. This is accomplished by providing a form that needs to be filled out. The visitor information is obtained in order to add the visitor’s email address to a mailing list as a future prospect. A transactional email campaign can be established in the future. The goal is to capture as much information about the visitor as possible. The ultimate goal is to convert the visitor into a customer.

I’d like to introduce you to “My Hero”. She’s 8 years old.

Her name is Nataly Gonzalez. She lives in Puerto Rico. I met her, her mother Bada and her grandmother Ludy on a cruise from San Juan, Puerto Rico to St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten and Barbados. We shared a table at the early seating for dinner.

As you can see, Nataly looks like a little angel and that is the way I’ve come to think of her. She has long wavy hair down to her waist. She was just the sweetest thing I’ve met in a long time. And something about her eyes touched my heart every time I looked at her. Now I guess you’re wondering why I said that she is my hero. This is why.

Her mom told me that Nataly has decided to donate her beautiful locks to the sick children who need wigs because they lost their own hair due to illness. Now for me, it was truly amazing for a child so young to be so compassionate as to think about other children who would benefit from her sacrifice. It never ceases to amaze me how many wonderful people there are who care so much about others. It is a good testimony to her family who raised her to be so kind a loving. Children have always held a special place in my heart and this one just melted it by her courageous sacrifice and her loving heart. God bless you Nataly and bless your family for raising you so well.

Celebrating My Birthday

I really enjoyed my birthday today – November 5, 2013. I made the big “65”. It’s medicare time. Let’s party!!! LOL. I went to my favorite restaurant “Red Lobster” with two of my good friends Mary and Faye.

I had a couple of Long Island Iced Teas and the Admiral Feast with extra Walt’s shrimp instead of clam strips and an added side of crab legs.

The staff brought me a scoop of ice cream with a candle in it and they sang “happy birthday” to me. I had a ball. We all met there in our new cars and our great attitudes. I was calling myself The Rasta Party Birthday Girl. I took lots of pictures and posted them on my Facebook page. I took a couple of videos also.

I feel at this point in my life that I am “living the life of Riley”. That term refers to a sitcom that used to be on TV in the old days. I have not been cheated by life at all. God has been so very good to me and I am grateful for all my blessings, which includes my friends and family.

All I can say is “Thank You Lord!”

MEET CHUCK AND BARBARA BARRETTE

This is one of the lovely couples I met while on a cruise on the Carnival Conquest October 13 – 20, 2014.

During our conversations we exchanged destinations and adventures we had the opportunity to experience. We spoke of our “bucket” lists and what we enjoyed about each journey we took to the places we had visited. It was a joy for me to meet people who had the passion for travel that I have. They enjoyed their cruise so much they decided to take advantage of the Future Carnival Vacations program (previously called the Future Cruise desk). This program allows for you to book a cruise at another time. You can choose the ship and the itinerary. The benefit of doing this is that you receive up to $200 in OBC (On Board Credit) on your next cruise. You also receive 2 vouchers to give to family and friends to receive the same OBC. That’s pretty neat.

You can choose to book your next cruise with a travel agent in which case that travel agent receives credit for the booking or you can book it through Carnival which means they don’t have to pay the 10% commission to the travel agent. However, no money exchanges hands between the travel agent and the client. It’s all done through Carnival.

I tried to convey that information to the Barrette’s, but I think Barbara got cold feet and they made the booking but did not use me as the travel agent. Her decision was fine with me but I wish she would have told me before I spent an hour and a half waiting for them to get to the front of the line to be waited on after they told me to meet them at the desk at 4:30. I could have been doing something else.
