What is a Capture Page?

A capture page, also known as a Lead Capture Page or a Landing Page is a single web page that appears in response to clicking on an online advertisement. It usually involves some type of “offer” to entice prospects to submit their name and email address thereby giving you access to share information with them via your “list” Click here to see example. ,

Many, many marketers say “The money is in the list.” But when I first started internet marketing I was like “what list?” I didn’t know the first thing about a list. Later I learned that the “list” is your target market. In other words, the people that are interested in either obtaining or learning more about your business or offer.

The job of a capture page is to collect information from your prospect and have them give you their permission to send them to more information in which they have shown an interest.

Landing pages are often linked to from social media, email campaigns or search engine marketing campaigns in order to enhance the effectiveness of the advertisements. The general goal of a landing page is to convert site visitors into sales or leads. By analyzing activity generated by the linked URL, marketers can use click-through rates and Conversion rates to determine the success of an advertisement. You need a URL tracker for this. I use this one. Click here.

It works like this: You post a free offer or offer something for free. When the prospect signs up and clicks on “get access” or some term meaning the same thing the offer is produced.

When the prospect signs up their information goes into your autoresponder which adds it to your “list”.

There are two types of landing pages: reference and transactional.

Reference landing page

A reference landing page presents information that is relevant to the visitor. These can display text, images, dynamic compilations of relevant links, or other elements.

Transactional landing pages

The purpose of the transactional landing page is to entice a visitor to take action by completing a transaction. This is accomplished by providing a form that needs to be filled out. The visitor information is obtained in order to add the visitor’s email address to a mailing list as a future prospect. A transactional email campaign can be established in the future. The goal is to capture as much information about the visitor as possible. The ultimate goal is to convert the visitor into a customer.

So a capture page is a good tool to use to market your product. I use this suite of internet tools, which includes capture pages, sales pages, training videos and more. Click here.

Wishing you great success.

SOME DO'S AND DON'TS TO SELLING YOUR PRODUCTS ONLINE

Many small business owners are hopeful that offering their products online will increase their bottom line. But the digital marketplace is increasingly crowded and it can be hard to stand out from the pack. The good news is that being a small business can actually give you an edge over bigger brands - if you know how to use your size to your advantage. Here are some do's and don'ts you need to take your business to the next level:

Don't build your own online shopping platform. While you may believe that having your own website will attract new shoppers, website development and maintenance is expensive and time consuming. Unless your brand already has the visibility needed to attract consumers without advertising or marketing, traffic to the site will be hard to generate.

Don't expect your products to sell on a large online marketplace. While big online marketplaces like Amazon or eBay attract a high volume of online shoppers, unless customers are searching specifically for your brand or come across your products by accident, they will likely never see your products.

Do partner with a retail platform that can help you engage with your customers. OpenSky.com is a new and free social shopping marketplace dedicated to building the businesses of small merchants. OpenSky.com will provide you with your own customized online store, a new business toolkit including tips and support, and a built-in community of more than 2.5 million engaged social shoppers, enabling you to foster one-on-one connections and market your goods directly to them. Because they're already pre-disposed to shop, a follower of your brand on OpenSky is 27 times more likely to buy than a Facebook fan. These engaged followers lead to more sales with less cost to you. Best of all- It's incredibly easy. To begin, visit www.OpenSky.com/marketplace to learn more and join this fast-growing network of brands and customers.

Do your due diligence in using the tools you need to help grow your business such as programs that train you how to do what is needed. Click here. This particular program also offers sales pages already set up with a product and a paypal link. To view Click Here. It comes complete with an autoresponder and pre-written messages to use with your autoresponder if needed.

Do market your products in a one-of-a-kind way. Create eye-catching content, making sure all your photos are high quality and shot in their best light.

Do establish yourself as an authority. Consider creating tips, recipes or behind-the-scene snippets. If your products are naturally-sourced, why not share photos from the beautiful hike that provided your inspiration for it? Sharing relevant and relatable content will keep your customers coming back.

Do use your size to your advantage. While big retailers are busy playing the price-cutting game, you can work smartly to connect with a community of loyal followers who really appreciate what you do. Harness the personal relationships you've made with customers through social platforms where you can strengthen connections by sharing product news, relevant content and personal reminders about new items you think they'll enjoy. Remember that what makes your small business special is your customers' opportunity to feel a personal connection with you, the entrepreneur and your passion - your product. That’s what we call building a relationship.

Do start now. While selling online may seem overwhelming, following these easy steps will help you make others fall in love with your brand.

Great Success

I’d like to introduce you to “My Hero”. She’s 8 years old.

Her name is Nataly Gonzalez. She lives in Puerto Rico. I met her, her mother Bada and her grandmother Ludy on a cruise from San Juan, Puerto Rico to St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten and Barbados. We shared a table at the early seating for dinner.

As you can see, Nataly looks like a little angel and that is the way I’ve come to think of her. She has long wavy hair down to her waist. She was just the sweetest thing I’ve met in a long time. And something about her eyes touched my heart every time I looked at her. Now I guess you’re wondering why I said that she is my hero. This is why.

Her mom told me that Nataly has decided to donate her beautiful locks to the sick children who need wigs because they lost their own hair due to illness. Now for me, it was truly amazing for a child so young to be so compassionate as to think about other children who would benefit from her sacrifice. It never ceases to amaze me how many wonderful people there are who care so much about others. It is a good testimony to her family who raised her to be so kind a loving. Children have always held a special place in my heart and this one just melted it by her courageous sacrifice and her loving heart. God bless you Nataly and bless your family for raising you so well.

Celebrating My Birthday

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=573867709333927&l=3434893104920025297

I really enjoyed my birthday today – November 5, 2013. I made the big “65”. It’s medicare time. Let’s party!!! LOL. I went to my favorite restaurant “Red Lobster” with two of my good friends Mary and Faye.

I had a couple of Long Island Iced Teas and the Admiral Feast with extra Walt’s shrimp instead of clam strips and an added side of crab legs.

The staff brought me a scoop of ice cream with a candle in it and they sang “happy birthday” to me. I had a ball. We all met there in our new cars and our great attitudes. I was calling myself The Rasta Party Birthday Girl. I took lots of pictures and posted them on my Facebook page. I took a couple of videos also.

I feel at this point in my life that I am “living the life of Riley”. That term refers to a sitcom that used to be on TV in the old days. I have not been cheated by life at all. God has been so very good to me and I am grateful for all my blessings, which includes my friends and family.

All I can say is “Thank You Lord!”

MEET CHUCK AND BARBARA BARRETTE

This is one of the lovely couples I met while on a cruise on the Carnival Conquest October 13 – 20, 2014.

During our conversations we exchanged destinations and adventures we had the opportunity to experience. We spoke of our “bucket” lists and what we enjoyed about each journey we took to the places we had visited. It was a joy for me to meet people who had the passion for travel that I have. They enjoyed their cruise so much they decided to take advantage of the Future Carnival Vacations program (previously called the Future Cruise desk). This program allows for you to book a cruise at another time. You can choose the ship and the itinerary. The benefit of doing this is that you receive up to $200 in OBC (On Board Credit) on your next cruise. You also receive 2 vouchers to give to family and friends to receive the same OBC. That’s pretty neat.

You can choose to book your next cruise with a travel agent in which case that travel agent receives credit for the booking or you can book it through Carnival which means they don’t have to pay the 10% commission to the travel agent. However, no money exchanges hands between the travel agent and the client. It’s all done through Carnival.

I tried to convey that information to the Barrette’s, but I think Barbara got cold feet and they made the booking but did not use me as the travel agent. Her decision was fine with me but I wish she would have told me before I spent an hour and a half waiting for them to get to the front of the line to be waited on after they told me to meet them at the desk at 4:30. I could have been doing something else.

I’m sharing this information so you know that as a cruiser you have an advantage if you book your cruise while on a cruise. And if you have a good travel agent use that person on your booking. If you need a good travel agent, contact me @ 1-773-417-9067 or 1-888-210-1575.

I hope Chuck and Barbara have a wonderful cruise and keep crossing destinations off their bucket list.

The Success Power Hour

The Success Power Hour should be the first thing we assign ourselves every morning upon waking.

According to Kevin Purdy in a Work Smart article he declared that the first hour of your day matters a great deal. This is what I call the Success Power Hour. It is a time when you can see everything clearly. It is a time when you can accomplish one set goal. It is a time to focus on the human side of work and not just a list of things to do for that day.

Purdy advises against checking your email before at least 10:00 a.m. When you do this it is counter-productive.

The first segment should be spent gaining awareness and accept being grateful. Allow time for exercise, affirmations, acknowledging your blessings and visualization. As you do your exercise routine, even though short, it will give you the courage to extend your routine and even if you don’t you will feel a sense of accomplishment in that you did do something for yourself. You can assign a certain amount of minutes within the Success Power Hour (say 10-15 minutes) to do this task.

Affirmations are very important in creating manifestations of your desires. You should have a list of them available to post on an obvious place where you can see them, say them and visualize them every day. I always think about affirmations as seeds that you water to help grow your trees of manifestations. I like the phrase “You can have what you say”. It is a true saying and it really works. I like to put mine on 3 x 5 cards in magic marker ink and tape them to the mirror. One of the first things we do when we wake up is go to the bathroom. This makes a perfect spot that you definitely will not miss. Assign a certain amount of time within the Success Power Hour to achieve this act.

Next you’ll want to think about all the things that you are grateful for. The blessings you have received, the health of yourself and your loved ones, that fact that everyone around you is working or has a job or has their own business. Anything that you feel is a blessing and that you are thankful for should fall into this category. Thanks makes room for more. I always like to refer to scripture and I think this one is appropriate for this occasion:

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

And the last part is you want to visualize. What do you truly want in your life? See yourself with that object or thing. See yourself smiling and laughing and enjoying and sharing it. Try to feel the exhilaration of the moment. Hold on to that feeling. Take that feeling with you for the rest of your day.

By consistently using the Success Power Hour method to start your day, success will become increasingly inevitable as you attain your dreams.
